This stunning photograph was taken from the beach of Sea Ranch, CA the night of August 7th, 2015. Signed, limited edition.  Matted and framed it measures 34.5" x 45.5"  Shot with a 30 second exposure using a Canon 5dsr camera with a 16-35 mm lens at 17mm.  

Christopher Turner's photograph,  "Milky Way over Sea Ranch"  is magnificent.  The foreground captures the intimacy of the Pacific Ocean as it touches the coast and the outline of a cypress grove overlooking the water. The subject,  The Milky Way with its vast radiance and countless stars reconnects us to our incredible galaxy. 

Astrologists estimate there are between 100-400 billion stars in the Milky Way spread across 100-120,000 light years.  Our human eye would be lucky to see 2400 stars on a given night.
